Meteorologist) The special forecast by the Government meteorologist covering the WaikatoThames Valley area Is as follows: — Forecast: Moderate southwesterly winds, later veering to norlherlies and freshening. Weather variable with showers developing later.. Temperatures mild. Seas moderate. .. General Inference: A series o£ westerly depressions 'has been passing in the south, that of last night being a deep one. In the north pressure has remained high, but Is likely to fall now as the last of a series of depressions advances from the Tasman Sea. THE RAINFALL. • (Recorded at Ruakura.) Rainfall for 24 hours ended 9 o’clock this morning .Olins. Rainfall for previous 24 hours .001ns. Total for September, 1.0 ins. Rainfall for year to date. 33.59in5.
