LOCAL OBSERVATIONS. Miss Budd, of Balfour M. Irvins and Webster. Ltdsupplies the following observations of the weather: — Barometer. Monday 30.10 Thermometer. Max. Min. Sunday 61.0 51.0 The barometer is falling and reads 30.10. Indications are for overcast weather today with higher temperatures. Northerly winds prevailing. Scattered showers, followed by unsettled conditions after 24 hours. 0.02 points' of rain fell during the past 24 hours. Mean temperature 56 degrees. SOUTH AUCKLAND AREA. (By Govt. Meteorologist) The special forecast by the Government meteorologist covering the WaikatoThames Valley area Is as follows: — Forecast: Moderate southwesterly winds, later veering to norlherlies and freshening. Weather variable with showers developing later.. Temperatures mild. Seas moderate. .. General Inference: A series o£ westerly depressions 'has been passing in the south, that of last night being a deep one. In the north pressure has remained high, but Is likely to fall now as the last of a series of depressions advances from the Tasman Sea. THE RAINFALL. • (Recorded at Ruakura.)
