APPEAL DISMISSED. HECTOR GRAY’S CASE. WELLINGTON, Friday. The appeal fay H. E. Gray against the decision of the Licensing Committeo of the New Zealand Racing Conference in declining to grant him a trainer's license was to-day dismissed by the conference appeal judges.

Tramways Loan Conversion. —At a meeting or the Auckland City Council, tlio conversion and consolidation of tramways loans was the subject of a letter from the Auckland Transport Board. The letter advised that tiie board was opening negotiations with the Local Government Loans Board and the Auckland Savings Bank trustees in respect of 1 lie loans raised by the council for tramway purposes, the responsibility for which now rests with the hoard. The council was asked to communicate with the commissioners and also with the trustees of the Auckland Savings Bank staling I hat it approved the proposed conversion. The council approved the scheme and dumb'd |o notify the commissioners and trustees accordingly.
