In a cricket match at Folkestone between Marylebone and South of England the former made 375 in the first innings (Johnstone 133, Hudson 50). Freeman took five wickets for 130. South of England had made seven for one wicket when play ceased for the day. At Scarborough Leveson-Gower’s team, playing against West Indies, made 275 for seven wickets (Wyatt not out 100, Townsend 61, Paynter 50).
