THE AUCKLAND MARKETSQUIET AND FIRM. (By Telegraph—Press Association,) AUCKLAND, Monday. At 'the first call of the week the market tone was quiet and firm. Bank shares were in demand, and buyers for Commercial of Sydney moved up to £l7 3s. New Zealands were again in request at £2 9s 9d. Farmers’ Trading ordinary shares were easier at 3s 6d., The mining section was active. Okarltos advanced with a. sale a't Us 7d, while Waihls and Blackwaters were in demand at £1 4s and £1 8s respectively. There was little change In Government stocks. The Noon Call. There was an Improvement during the morning, and six transactions were put through at the noon call. Hamilton and Mt. Albert debentures were Included in the sales list, and there was business in 1955 4 per cent, stock at recent values. There was keener demand for Bank of Now Zealand shares, sending buyors’ limits up to £2 10s, which brought In sellers at Gd higher. New Zoaland Insurances also showed a stronger tone. * SALES RECORDED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Monday. South British, 69s 9d. Hamilton Borough, 4J per cent., £92 10s. Mt, Albert, 5} per cent., £95. Stock, 4 per cents., £IOO 12a 6d.
