Attestation of Signatures.—The annual report of the Canterbury Justices of the Peace Association quotes the following circular which lias been received from the honorary registrar of the Federation of New Zealand Justices’ Associations: “It has come to the knowledge of the Federation of New Zealand Justices’ Associations that some justices of the peace are in the habit of attesting the signature to a document, such signature not having been made in the presence of tho said justice and the signatory not, being present to declare the same to lie his or tier signature. The federation feels it a duty to point, out 1 hat this prictice is absolutely wrong; it invalidates the document, and the justice so acting is liable to he removed from the Commission of the Peace."
