EUCHRE TOURNAMENT. The fortnightly puchre tournament held under the auspices of the Waltoa Anglican Church took place in the Y.M.C.A. on Tuesday evening, when there was an attendance of between 50 and 60 people. The ladies’ committee are very grateful to Mesdames Barker and G. Cleghorn, who donated prizes for the evening. After many enjoyable games had been played, the first prizes were won by Mrs w, Goodison and Mr A. L: English, while the lesser honours were secured by Mesdames R. B. Malcolm and G. Forbes (equal), and Mr 11. Kerr. After a very dainty supper, which had been prepared and donated by the ladies’ committee, had been served, a very enjoyable evening was brought to a ■close by an impromptu dance, to music played by Mrs Blomfieid. Among those present were the following Wailoa ladies: —Mrs W. Goodison, Mrs A. E. Blackwell, Mrs R. W. Taylor, Mrs 11. Walker, Mrs T. Reay, Mrs G. Cleghorn, Mrs W. Cook, .Miss Olga Luxton, Miss Kate Luxton, Mrs J. McKcndrv, Miss Moira Luxton, Miss 1. Gordon, Miss Elsie Arnold, -Miss Doreen Arnold, Miss M. Reay, Mrs Blomfieid, Mrs S. McLaren, Mrs Holland, Mrs S. M- Hyde, Mrs Alec Hill, Mrs R. B. Malcolm, Miss Sturgeon, Mrs 11. Kerr, Mrs W. Craig, Mrs A. G. Hill, Mrs W. A. Fleming, Mrs u. Forbes, Mrs Borrie, Mrs Dickson and Mrs W. Mills.
