Passages In Lorries. —“ I frequently have men offering to help load and unload my motor-truck in return for a lift,” said a driver, Mr. A. F. Hicks, of Auckland, at yesterday’s sitting ol the No. 2 Licensing Authority. If lie carried all the tramps who sought rides, the lorry would he frequently laden. “ I have observed many 'carriers with passengers in their lorries,” said Mr. W. E. AMcholson, traffic inspector or the Waikato, Waipa and Raglan County Councils. ” Whether thev pay fares or not, it is hard to tell.”
