RELIEF WORKERS.
WILL NOT ENTER CAMPS. COUNTY COUNCIL’S COMPLAINT. (Bv Tolegraph.—Press Association.) ASHBURTON, Tuesday. By a large majority the relief workers decided not to enter camps organised by the County Council, which finds it impossible to defray the huge cost of transporting the men to do jobs at a distance. The camps provide specially-constructed huts and cook-houses, with more liberal wages and allowances than elsewhere in the Dominion. The council Issued a statement this morning that it was not satisfied with the work done under the No. 5 scheme, and the only alternative Is the camp scheme.
