SYDNEY,' Aug. i At an auction sale of pedigreed Clydesdale stallions and mares in Sydney to-day the top price of 230 guineas was paid, for the New Zealandbred Thornlie Bold, vvhicho, was bred by Mr Charles Milne, \of Edendale, Southland.
Another New Zealander, Confidence, was offered on be'half of Mr H. Cook, of Christchurch, but was passed in at 480 guineas, as was Seamark at 300 guineas. Rockdale Alex, by a New Zealand sire, realised 195 guineas. Five stallions on behalf 1 of Mr T. Robson, recently shipped from New Zealand, sold as follows: Wolsingham, 160 guineas; Netherton Progress, 170 guineas; Sir Dighton, 180 guineas; Cloverdale Brilliant, 170 guineas. The only mare sold was the Imported Netherton Viola, which realised 170 guineas. Several New Zealand stallions were passed in. The demand was considered satisfactory for Clydesdales of quality with a good strain in their pedigrees.
