BUILDING SOCIETY.
HAMILTON STARR-BOWKETT APPROPRIATION MEETING HELD. A.SUCCESSFUL YEAR. An appropriation meeting of the Hamilton Starr-Bowkett Building Society was held in St. Peter's Hall last night, the chairman of directors, Mr A. J. Denz, presiding over a good attendance. A ballot for a free-of-lnterest loan of £IOOO was won by cluster No. 65, which was owned by Mr and Mrs J. Carson, of Maeroa Street, Frankton. An appropriation of £IOOO by sale was also held, the highest tender being £3lO.
Mr Denz mentioned that the financial year of the society Would end in a few days, and he was pleased to report that the past year had been very successful,' the society’s total income exceeding that of th'e previous year by £250. ,
Inoludlng the appropriations ' made last night, the total amount now appropriated by the soolety slnoe Its Inception 10 year* ago, exceeded £40,000.
