DAIRY PAY-OUTS.

UNFAIR COMPARISONS.

MR A. J. SINCLAIR HITB OUT.

COMPETITOR CRITICISED.

A vigorous defence of his company’s pay-out for the season as compared with those of certain other companies was made by Mr A. J. Sinclair, secre-tary-manager, at the annual meeting of the Te Awamutu Co-operative Dairy Company, Ltd., on Saturday. Mr Sinclair took strong exception to a proprietary dairy company issuing a oircular in the district which he alleged did not set forth the true position. , . ( -■; “We have put up with a good deal In the past and some of our competitors’are not fair,” said Mr Sinolair. “When a competitor company takes out a comparison with our company showing our pay-out as less, it is time _ ; we took notice of it.” Referring to the statement Issued by the other company Mr Sinclair said it included their final payment for the season, but it did not include a supple- , mentary payment which the Te Awa- O, mutu Company had declared on all butter-fat during the season, which would be paid to all suppliers, even if they were not shareholders. ' Moreover, the statement did not include Jd per lb on all butter-fat for the . season which was being paid to a considerable number of Te Awamutu Company shareholders In cash because they were holding fully-Pam up shares. Where a shareholders shares were not fully paid up he got the cash payment of id per lb on the butter-fat covered by fully P ai^"u P shares and the balance was credited t 6 his share capital account. Summarising the position, Mr Sin- • clalr said £l6l 19s paid by the Te Awamutu Company had been omitted from the statement issued by the other company. . Actually the Te Awamutu Company’s payment to the supplier used for comparison purposes In the statement was 4s Id more than he would have received had he supplied the other company. Applause followed Mr Sinclair» remarks. , .
