HAMILTON ORPHANS.
FORTNIGHTLY GATHERING. ENJOYABLE EVENING SPENT. A good muster of members of the Hamilton Orphans’ Club assembled at Toorak Hall on Saturday night for the fortnightly social gathering of the club. Bro. Past-president J. Parlanc was in the chair, and a most enjoyable evening was spent. A feature was an address by Mr Phillips Turner on forests and forest trees in New Zealand. The lecture, which was illustrated with lantern slides, proved highly interesting. An excellent musical programme was opened by Mr K. Prime’s orchestra. Songs were given by Messrs F. II Clapham, 11. Piper and P. To Wen, whole Mr D. Boyd entertained with violin solos and Mr lv. Smith with conjuring. The chairman contributed a number anecdotes to the programme. During the evening four new members were received.
