WAITERIMU NEWS.
ENJOYABLE DANCE. A very enjoyable dance was held in the Waiierimu-Matahuru Hall. Considering the bad weather there was a very good attendance. The Ambassadors Dance Band (Taupiri) supplied excellent music, and old-time dances were much in evidence.
The proceeds were for the hall funds, the 'organisers being Messrs J. Fulton, G. Smith, L. Sherson. Several competitions were held. Mr and Mrs Reg. Grundy (Matahuru) were the winners of the Monte Carlo dance, and -Miss L. Fitness and Mr L. Hill won the statue dance ’competition.
The following were among those present: Mesdames Corrie, wearing beige satin bbaute ami brocade; Harrison, black Vandyked georgette and silk; R. Grundy, black lace over satin; Matched, • coral red net over satin; McGovern. Idack velvet; Wallace, black clianneuse and blue velvet bridge coat; Misses F. Bramley, princess blue crinkle crepe; Y. Bramley, daffodil georgette ami lace; P. Fitness, sky blue lace; L. Fitness, pale green silk; K. McGlyn, pale shrimp pink angelskin satin; Ncwlon, black silk with touches of red: Turner, Burgundy satin; Taylor, pink shot silver taffeta; B. Taylor, cream ami green lloral georgette; Wright, pale green satin beanie; Wallace, carnation pink satin; Marg. Wallace, emerald green velvet and pink organdie.
