WAIKATO HOUNDB. > MEET AT FENCOURT, , - A meet of the Waikato Hun! Club was held at Harbutt’s corner yesterday, when a large and representative field turned out to meet the huntsman, Mr Ned Brown and whip, Mr E. Keyte. With ideal hunting weather a most enjoyable day’s sport was experienced. Before throwing off the followers were entertained to morning tea by Mr and Mrs Harbutt. Hunting was over the farms of Messrs Phillipp, Harbutt, Hunt, Leaning, Swayne,' Murray, Cubis, Wynn Brown, A. Brown, William Brown and Read. SCHOOL FOOTBALL. COMPETITIONS CONTINUED. The Cambridge district 'schools) football competition, has • reached the concluding stages ' and keen interest has been taken in recent matches. On the table of champion-1 ship points, Cambridge B are leading] with 13 points, followed.by Haugood! with 10 points. The other two teams, Cambridge A and .Leamington, have 6 and 3 points respectively. Two games that were postponed have yet to be played between Cambridge A and Haugood and Cambridge B and Haugood and there is every chance pt the combined country -team gaining the final decision. Games played this week were a 3 follows: Cambridge A defeated Leamington by 3 points to nil from a try by Lynds. Mr H. Carter refereed. Cambridge B defeated Cambridge A by 8 points to 6 in a very even game. Mr T. Kerr refereed. Most interest was taken in the game played yesterday when Cambridge B defeated Haugood by 6 points to 3. It was an exciting game though Haugood were handicapped in not having their strongest fifteen on the field. For the winners K. Dags and K. Conder scored tries and Wallace scored for Haugood. Mr H. Carter refereed.
