FIRE BRIGADE BALL.

FUNCTION AT CAMBRIDGE. The Cambridge Fire Brigade held its annual ball in the Town Hall on Thursday evening, when there was a large attendace, including visiting firemen and friends from all parts of the Waikato. Clayton’s Havana Band provided excellent music. The brigade officers and firemen and the ladies’ committee had gone to considerable trouble in organising the function, and were to some extent repaid by a successful ball. A most enjoyable supper was provided by the ladies ’committee and the table decorations were the handiwork of Misses J. Priestley and J. Couper. The M.C.’s were Foreman F. H. Green and Mr J. Dempster.

During the evening the chairman of the Fire Board (Mr €. H. Priestly), presented service honours to several of the brigade members. The ladies’ committee included: —• 'Mesdames Geo. Drew, W. J. Harris, F. Green, W. Osborne, E. Bowden, L. Carmichael, A. E. Harris, A. Gane, MacDonald, Kingdon, Johnson, S. Hall, Howarth, R. Cubis, Miss Linstrom, Miss J. Priestley, Miss J. Couper.

Among others present were:—Mesdames Whytcross (Te Poi), H. O. Webb (Hamilton), Davey, W. J. Hyde (Hamilton), A. Craig (Hamilton), V. H. Wing (Hamilton), S. Miller, Chard, V. Boulton, Leckie, W. Meanie, Harper Williams, T. Worthing, J. Byrne, T. Reilly, E. Byrne, G. Russell (Hamilton).
