Chief interest will be focussed on the Frankton —-Marist game on No. 1 ground. While a loss will not displace Frankton from their position at the head of the championship ladder it will j certainly create an interesting situation so far as the competition for runner-up is concerned. HIGH SCHOOL MATCH. TE AWAMUTU V. CAMBRIDGE. This match in the northern section of the boundaries was played at 'the High School grounds, Te Awamutu, on Thursday afternoon, and resulted in an easy victory for the home side, by 46 points to 0. Mr. R. Callis was referee. The scores yvere made up of tries by Rickit (2), J. McGovern (2), Shaw (2), Sklenars (2), Miller, Thomson and Hey; conversions by Corboy, Bridge and Miller. Bridge also kicked a penalty goal and S. Shepherd a field goal.

MEETING AT MATANGI. ! The Northern Football Club met at Matangi this week. Mr R. Cranston, vice-president, presided over 30 members. The president, Mr A. Curie, who has left the district, wrote tendering his resignation. The -club decided not to accept the resignation, but to let him remain as president ex officio as an expression of gratitude for 'his work in the amalgamating the Tauwhare and Matangi Clubs into the Northern Club. Mr H. Middlemiss tendered his resignation as third grade selector. This was received with regret, and Mr Ron Robinson was appointed in his stead. A motion of sympathy was passed with Mr and Mrs W. Trounson in their recent bereavement. The members stood in silence as a tribute to the memory of the late Mr Owen Trounson, an esteemed member of the club.
