WORK FOR UNEMPLOYED.
WAIKATO TIMES APPEAL. DONATIONS TO FUND. A steady response continues to be made to the Waikato Times’ appeal for the provision of work for the unemployed, many inquiries for labour having been-received by the Hamilton Unemployed Workers’ Movement. Men to fill all classes of positions are being supplied, hut, despite the support accorded the scheme by the public, a large number of unemployed are still awaiting jobs. Several skilled tradesmen are available.
The Times winter comfort fund is also proving a valuable medium for the lending of flnaneial assistance. Donations received will be handed over to the Domain Board and the Beautifying Society, which have arranged to provide as much work as the funds \vill permit. Inquiries for labour may be made at tlxe office of the Unemployed Workers’ Movement, in King’s Buildings, or by ringing 1969, the Welfare League’s number. Donations Acknowledged.
