HARD COURT TOURNEY. WAIKATO PLAYER’S SUCCESS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Saturday. There was more showery weather to-day for the New Zealand junior hard court tennis championships. Results affecting the Waikato district are as follows: Combined Doubles.—Third Round: D. Clow and Miss M. Beverley (Waikato) beat E. Child (Northland) and Miss D. Smythe (South Canterbury), 6 —3, 5 — 6, 6 —4. Semi-final: Clow and Miss Beverley beat J, W. Gunn and Miss J. Bishop (Auckland), 6 —o, 6—4.
Final.—J. L. B. Stevens and Miss B. Bishop (Auckland) beat D. Clow and (Miss M. Beverley, 6—4, 6 —2. Boys’ Plate. —Final: D. Clow beat H. Giles (Auckland), 6 —5, 6 —2. Girls’ Plato. —Final: Joy Bishop (Auckland) beat D. Smythe (South Canterbury), 6 —3, 4— 6, 6 —2. Stevens won ail three titles.
