ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL

SOUTH AUCKLAND SEASON OPENING GAMES TO-MORROW. The Association football season will open In South Auckland to-morrow with games at Hamilton, Huntly and Glen Afton. A most attractive fixture is set down for decision at Seddon Park, where Rotowaro, last Season s champions, will meet Hamilton Wanderers. Rotowaro will field practically last year’s eleven and nothing need be added to that to emphasise how difficult they will be to overcome. The Wanderers have a strong defen :e, but do not appear, on paper, to be so resolute In attack as would he necessary to'overcome the sturdy Rotowaro rear division. The experiment of playing Rogers at inside right is not likely to meet with success. Mr E. R. Marsh will referee the game at 3 p.m. Hamilton United Journey to Huntly to meet the Thistle. The former appear to be vastly improved on last season, but Thistle, strengthened by the inclusion of the Bate brothers, will be difficult to overcome on their own ground. The remaining game Is/ a meeting between two newcomers to senior ranks, Glen Afton and Pukemiro. . The Team*. The following team will represent the United club in their matoh with Thistle at Huntly to-morrow:—Wal-lace, Scott, Davis, 'Haycock, Reid, Carson, Burdis, D. A. Orafob, Beacham, Davison, J.
