FIRE NEAR RANGIRIRI.

FIVE-ROOMED HOUSE DESTROYED. MERCER, Thursday. A five-roomed house on the Great South Road, near Rangiriri, was destroyed by fire at midnight on Wednesday. The building was owned by Mr W. Durand, who was absent at the time of the outbreak. The two occupiers, Mr A. Dui'and, a brother of the owner, and Mr R. Ridgeway, made a hurried escape and both hvere affected by smoke.
