Stated to have had control in the handling of approximately £(10,000 yearly as cashier in the Wellington office' of the Iluddart-Parker Shipping Company, Archibald James Glen (39), pleaded guilty in the Magistrate’s Court to-day to stealing £3OIB 18s 2d from the company. The evidence showed that the defalcations had taken place over a period of five years. When questioned by the manager of the company accused had made confession. In a statement accused said he had received only £! 12s Id weekly. Sickness in ids home had involved him in expense, and his position In the company compelled him to live on a higher ■scale than his salary provided for. lie was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence.
