THE MISSING TRAMPERS.
' STILL NO TRACE. MILDER WEATHER PREVAILS. ACTIVITIES OF SEARCH PARTIES. (Bv Teleirrapti.—rress Association.) ‘ PAMERSTON N., Wednesday. Milder conditions at the searchers’ base at the Te Matawai hut were reported in a radio message picked up here to-day in connection .with the search for the missing 'trampers. Four searchers got under way from the hut this morning, after being weather-bound for several days. They set out for Mitre Flat.
Simultaneously a Levin party of three left to establish a camp in the Wairohine Bailey. A relief party of four left there today for To Matawai, where only the radio operator reamins on duty.
AEROPLANE TO SEARCH. BLOWING HARD IN MOUNTAINS. (By Telegrapn.—rrcss Association.) WELLINGTON, Wednesday. When the weather clears, the Wellington Aero club’s Waco machine will search the Tararuas for the missing trampers. Another search party leaves h&re to-night. Wireless advices to-day state that it is blowing hard on the mountain tops.
