CROQUET CLUB, Despite inclement weather, the .schoolroom was packed to overflowing on Friday evening when the Croquet Club held their annual social and dance, which was highly successful both socially and financially. The following programme was rendered: Songs, Mrs Lorrimer, “Lay my head beneath a' rose,” “Sunshine of your smile"; elocution, Mr Kemsley (CamhridgeJ, “Patent Medicine,” scene from Hamlet; duets, Misses Bell (Pirongla), "Best, Pilgrim, Rest,” “ Medley"; songs, Mrs Oldham, “Mate o’ mine,” “Where my caravan has rested"; recitation, Mr Godfrey, “Alphonse, (he man with the. single hair”; recitations, Mr Croker, “The Groom’s Seat," “Old King Cole”; songs, Miss Bell, "Cuckoo Calls," “I love the moon”; elocution, Mr Kemsley, “Old Mother Hubbard" (parody), “My Brindle Cow.” Mrs Bell (Plrongia) played all accompaniments. Prizes donated by the Misses Bell, Plrongia, for Hie “statue" Jazz were won by Miss Si fleet, and Mr P. George. Monto Carlo winners wore Miss Bene Bell and Mr P. George. Mr Jack Buttonvorth was M.C. Splendid dance music was supplied by Messrs llollesier, Krippner and Allcock, and extras by Mrs Bell. A cake donated by Mrs E. Wilson was won by Mr 11. Coxhead.
