AMATEUR ACTIVITIES.
Hamilton Operatic Society. The annual meeting of the Hamilton Operatic Society will be held on Tuesday, May 2, at Mr George Kingston’s 'Studio.
It is hoped that there will be a large attendance of members and intending members. The committee has several musical comedies and comic operas under consideration for production.
Productions In Auckland. “The Queen’s Husband," a oomedydrama by Robert Sherwood, author of "The Guardsman,’’ will be staged by the Auckland Little Theatre Society next month, under the direction of Mr Frederic E. McCallum. The Auckland branch of the Navy League is to stage A. A. Milne’s comedy “To Have the Honour” for three nights next month.
Dunedin Operatic Society. The Dunedin Operatic and Dramatic Society has chosen “Miss Hook of Holland” for its next production. “Miss Hook of/ Holland” is such a slow-moving production that several amateur societies have found it difficult to “put it over.” Let us hope that Dunedin will have more success. Wellington ’Varsity Capping Revue. The Wellington 'Varsity capping revue, “Three Sheets in the Wind," will be staged for three nights at the end of the month.
It will comprise three sketches, “Great Caesar,” “The Gully Trap,” and “Mr Galahad."
