ST. PAUL’S LADIES’ GUILD.
MISSIONARY AUXILIARY. A large united gathering of lady members of the above societies, with representatives from Frankton, Maeroa and Hamilton East, "together with many lady visitors assembled in the schoolroom on Thursday afternoon, the 20th instant, to meet the Rev. H. T. and Mrs Peat and the Rev. J. H. and Mrs Haslam, P-c newly appointed ministers of St. Paul’s and Frankton churches. Mrs D Bradley president, presided, and associated with her, Mrs Jones, in the absence of Mrs W. B. Williams. The hall presented' a pleasing appearance, being tastefully decorated with flowers, palms, eto. In extending a very cordial weloome the president expressed the wdsh that they would be happy in their new surroundings, and gave assurance that the ladies would endeavour to make it so.
'Mrs Fulton, secretary, read greetings from the ladies of the Timaru church. The Revs. Peat and Haslam suitably responded. Songs by Mrs A. -Gordon -and Miss Hamilton, an elocutionary item by Mrs Green and a piano solo -by Miss Mavis Jones added much pleasure to th,e gathering. Expressions of thanks to the performers, and the -serving of afternoon tea brought to a conclusion a happy meeting.
