Seotion A. —Seotion ties: Mrs Ske'llera and Mrs Hunter. UNITED FOOTBALL CLUB. FAREWELL TO MEMBER. ", Members of "the United, Football* Club gathered. last evening to , bid farewell to Mr J. R. Gardiner, wha has loyally - supported the club for many years, and who is leaving Gambridge. Mr A. E. Harris, president, spoke of the loss the United Club and football generally in Cambridge, would sustain In the departure of Mr and Mrs Gardiner. On behalf of the members, M? Harris presented Mr Gardiner with a miniature gold football bearing the inscription, “ Life Member, United Football Club.”
The remarks of the president were endorsed by Messrs H. Cubis, W. Wilkinson, P. J. Sefton, A. R. Batchelor, F. Cooper, W. Meanie, S. Nioholson, D. Wilson, T. S. Gray and R. Hughes. Opportunity was taken to welcome Mr Gardiner’s successor, Mr Pilllnger, who is also an ex-Auckland representative footballer. GOLF CLUB. DRAW FOR SATURDAY.' The official opening of the club has been postponed until Saturday week, owing to the non-completion of the new temporary club-house.
