CONFERENCE URGED BY FARMERS.

WERRINGTON, Thursday

Following on a discussion at a meeting of the Farmers’ Union yesterday upon the lack of support forthcoming for the entomological branch of the Gawthron Institute, it was decided to-day, after thoroughly discussing the possibilities of the coordination of Government departments and the Institute, that the presidents Mr W. Poison, should interview Hon. G. W. Forbes and urge the desirability of calling, a conference of all parties interested in scientific research with the idea of eliminating waste.
