PARTY AT MATANGI.

COMING-OF-AGE CELEBRATIONS. A “coming-of-age" party was held at the residence of Mrs F. Buckingham, ai Matangi, on Tuesday evening, in honour of her daughter Elsie. A very happy time was spent by a large number of relatives and friends, and the evening passed all too quickly with games, competitions, etc. A feature of the evening was the lighting of the candles and the cutting of the beautiful birthday cake, which was made and iced by Mr H. J. Ironside, of Ellerslie. The evening was brought to a close with the singing of “For she's a jolly good fellow" and “Auld Lang Syne."
