FLOWER SHOW.
AT TE AWAMUTU. The Autumn Show of the St. John ? § Horticultural Society was held at Te Awamutu on Thursday afternoon, and was a fine display. -. The committee, headed by Mr A. J. Shepherd, president, , and Mr M. H. Williams, secretary, -had arrangements well in hand. The Challenge Shield for cut flowers was won by Pokuru District, with 92 points; Hairini- District, 84 points, 2: Kihikihi District, 75 points, 3; Paterangi District, 60 points, 4. The Shield for vegetable garden, produce and fruit was won by Pokuru District, with 94 points; Paterangi second, with 79 points; and Hairini third, with 68 points. The champion blooms were grown by Mr V. Mellow, champion of the show and champion bronze; Mr S. Clark, 'Champion white; Mr O. S. West, champion pink; Mr A. Marquess, champion yellow; Mr G. B. Simpson, champion red. The points prize, novice seotlon, was won by Mr J. R. Brown.
The champion cactus dahlia, Mrs J. P. O’Sullivan; champion decoratlv# dahlia, Mrs J. P. O’Sullivan.
