AUCKLAND’S BUSES.
LOSS ON YEAR’S WORKING. OFFER TO PRIVATE OPERATORS. (I3y Telegraph.—Press Association.) AIICKLAND, Wednesday. If private operators or a combination of them arc prepared to take over the Auckland Transport Board's bus services the board, as a licensing authority, will license for them. This decision was made to-day afler a discussion on a report showing that on the present year's working the board’s buses show a loss ol £18,128. The excess of working expenses over revenue was £9512. The chairman. Mr. Allum. said no application lo lake over one bus service would he. granted. Private operators must lake all or none, and nnisl undertake lo maintain substantially the samo services at the same fares.
