CANADIAN TOBACCO.
MARKET IN BRITAIN. INCREASE IN SHIPMENTS. (Empire Press Union.) MONTREAL, March 18. Consignments of Canadian tobacco to the United Kingdom increased last year by more than 70 per cent, over 1931, and reached a total of 10,84-i,-15111), according to a report from Mr Harrison Watson, Canadian Trade Commissioner in London. In 1931, Mr Watson points out, Canada, Nyasaland and Southern Rhodesia together supplied 23,000,000 lb of tobacco to the United Kingdom, and the United States sent 157,000,000 lb Last year the three Empire countries shipped 3G,000,0001b and the United Slates only 125,000,0001 b. As an interesting evidence of this new trend of trade the commissioner commented on The fact that one widely-advertised British cigarette is made exclusively of Canadian tobacco.
