TIMARU WOOL SALES.
SPIRITED BIDDING. PRICES REPORTED FIRM. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) TIMARU, Thursday. The third and final wool sale of the season at Tlmaru was held to-night, when a catalogue of 4 378 bales was offered before a full bench of buyers. The hulk of the wool offered consisted of back-country clips, with a small number of farmers’ lots. Most of the clips carried a fair amount of condition and were not up to the quality at previous sales. There was spirited bidding for practically all lots and the sale was considered very satisfactory, prices firm on recent auctions. The official range of prices was as follows: Merino.—Average, BJd to 9Jd; inferior, 7d to BJd. Fine Ilalfbred. —Super, lOd to lid; average, 9d to lOd; inferior, 6id to 7id. Three-quarterbred.—super, up to 82d.1 average, 6Jd to 7Jd; inferior, od to 6Jd. Crossbreds. —Super, up to 6Jd; average, 4d to sid; Inferior, 3d to 3Jd. Hoggets.—Fine, 7Jd to 84d; medium, 64d to 7id; crossbred, 3id to sd. Bellies and Pieces. —Merino: Good to super, 5Jd to 9id; low to medium, 4id to sd. Ilalfbred: Good to super, 6d to 9id; low to medium, 4Jd to 5Jd. Crossbred: Good to super, 3id to 7id. Crutch lngs>—Medium to good, 2}d to 3|d; inferior, lid to 2d. Locks. —Merino, 2J<l to 4d; halfbred, 2id to 3id; crossbred, lid to 2Jd.
