FUN OF THE FAIR.
FERRY BANK GALA. GALAXY OF ATTRACTIONS. FIXE ARRAY OF STALLS. An attractive display has been arranged at this year's Hamilton Free Fair, which was opened this morning. A large band of willing helpers has been enlisted to assist behind the stalls, so that no mater hOw numerous the customers may toe, preparations to meet a rush of business are complete. A particularly good variety of sideshows and other amusements are in attendance, among others being an amateur circus, introducing some 20 performing animals. They were made at the Y.M.'C.A. and are cleverly constructed to allow various evolutions to toe performed. Visitors to the Waikato have been greatly impressed by the neatlykept parks, and fine gardens In the public places of Hamilton, and on every hand the work of the society has been lauded. Of a different type, but none the less useful in the community, are the activities of the Y.M.C.A., which is doing a tremendous amount of good among the younger generation with instruction in physical and other subjects. Both the Beautifying Society and Y.M.C.A. require funds to continue their work, and they are co-ordinat-ing their appeal to the public in this direction, in the Free Fair, which is being continued to-night and to-mor-row, concluding at 10 p.m. There are many special features at the fair to provide fun for young and old, and large crowds are expected, to-night and to-morrow.
