The Australian Davis Cup team comprising Jack Crawford (captain, NewSouth Wales), Vivian McGrath (New South Wales). Adrian Quist and Don Turnbull (both South Australian) sailed for Europe to-day. Crawford was quite optimistic and declared that the prospects, were .never better for the Australians. . In the autumn tennis championships in Melbourne on Saturday, Hopman defeated the New South Wales colt McGrath in one of the most thrilling matches seen In Victoria toy 4—6, 3—6. B—6, 6—2, 9—7.
