Wednesday 81.0 55.0 Thursday 80.0 63.0 The barometer reads 29.80 with a slightly rising tendency. indications are for continued unsettled weather to-day, fair at intervals with brisk northerly winds; seasonable temperature and heavy showers. 0.1 Gins of rain fell during the past 24 hours. Mean temperature, 71.5 degrees. SOUTH AUCKLAND AREA. SPECIAL FORECAST. (By Govt. Meteorologist.)’ The special forecast by the Government meteorologist covering the WaikatoThames Valley area is as folForecast: Moderate to strong southwest to westerly winds veering later to northwest. Weather mainly fair, but showery at times, especially in the high country. Temperatures mild. Seas rather rough. General inference: Though the first of a series of westerly depressions passed last night pressure is still very low from Tasmania to southern New Zealand and a continuance of the westerly type of yveather is indicated.
