COMMONS DEBATE. TIME BET FOR MONDAY. ARMS EMBARGO QUESTION. United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright. (Received Feb. 23. 1.40 p.m.) LONDON, Feb. 22. The Leader of the Opposition, Mr George Lansbury, in the House of Commons, Requested the Prime Minister to allot the earliest possible date for the debate on the Far 'East, in which a statement as to the Government’s policy regarding the arms embargo could be made. The Prime Minister agreed to allot time on Monday but pointed out that the Foreign Secretary had already given an answer on the question of the arms embargo. The Government’s view was that such an embargo must be subject to international agreement, and they were doing everything they could to ascertain whether thatinternational agreemnet was possible.

An emergency meeting of Cabinet was convened to-night in connection with the Far Eastern Crisis. The Sun understands that Britain is consulting America regarding an arms embargo. Meanwhile the Powers are anxiously Awaiting Britain’s lead.
