WAGE REDUCTION ASKED.;

Chapman, rep-e- > senling the employees at the hearing of the female printers’ dispute, charged the employers’ organisations in New Zealand with being largely -;esponsible for aggravating the financial position of the Dominion by their policy in reducing wages all "Ound. The present award provides for 23s 6d per week for the first six months and 56s after five years. The employers now ask reductions to 10s and 35s respectively, arguing that this is necessary, to accord with the present difficult times. Mr Chapman said the reductions were the most extensive ever proposed . in the Conciliation Council. i I
