The Oxford Pacifist Controversy. 'The pacifist controversy at Oxford University, which reached a climax on Friday in a forceful demonstration need not be taken very seriously, but at the same time il is not without its significance. In times of national agitation, public feeling may be swayed very easily in any direction, and incidents of the type reported have been known in the past to make a great appeal to the British mind. Had the incident been preceded by a stale of strained relations with any foreign power it would be easy to forecast the direction of the immense tide of public emotionalism which would have been set in motion.
Blending of Butter. Prosecutions of rotnilors for (he blending of foreign butter with Empire produce, continue to be mode in England with greater or less regularity. Simultaneously with the report of a recent case, comes the announcement of a private Bill moved in the House of Commons, and designed to compel the indication of the country of origin of all dairy pyoduee.
