HARDLEY SHIELD GAME. AUCKLAND AND SOUTH AUCKLAND RESULTS OF MORNING PLAY. In bright sunshine with but a slight breeze to temper what would otherwise have been excessive heat, bowling teams from the Auckland and South Auckland centres met on the Hamilton Club’s green to-day In a matoh for the Hardley Shield. Bowlers were present from many parts of the province and the contests were witnessed by a good gallery of spectators. The competition was divided into two .sections which were decided in the morning and afternoon respectively. THE HAMILTON CLUB. CHAMPIONSHIP SINGLES. S. R. HAWICEN THE WINNER. The Hamilton Club’s championship singles competition was concluded this morning when S. R. Hawken defeated R. Coombes In the final game by 23 points to 19. In a semi-final .Coombes beat R. N. Pilkington, 23 20. Hawken will represent the Hamilton Club in the South Auckland centre’s champion of champions singles competition.
