THE AUCKLAND MARKETS.
BUSINESS MUCH QUIETER
(By Telegraph.—Special to Times.) AUCKLAND, Friday. Business on Hie Slock Exchange has eased down perceptibly following a very busy period. Sales are not nearly so numerous as they were earlier in the week, and the market for some lines is weaker. At Ibis morning's call Colonial Sugars eased ss, with a sale at £.>2. r r 1 1 0 banking section was steady, and insurances were very firm. in Ihe mining division Alexanders were offered lower at i3s Del, bringing a buyer at Jis (id. Wailiis were a shade firmer, with buyers at £1 is ;Ul, holders asking £1 Js SHI. Auckland Cas shares were on offer at £1 Is 3d. In Government slocks, if per cents were wanted at £l)s I Os, and 5 A per cents at £lOl. A parcel of 4Ms was available at £O6 5s and s*’s at £lOl JOs.
