HELPLESSLY DRUNK.

FORBES BEFORE COURT. ORDERED TO INEBRIATES’ HOME. PLEA FOR ANOTHER CHANCE. Henry James Forbes, aged 50 years, or Frankton was convicted on a charge of being helplessly drunk in High Street, Frankton, oil January IG, and was ordered to the Rotoroa Inebriates’ Home for twelve months by Mr Wyvern Wilson, S.M., In the Hamilton Magistrate’s Court this morning. Forbes who had been convicted three times previously in this ..month for similar offences was remanded for medical treatment when he appeared before the Court on January 17. Sergeant C. Anniss told His Worship that when Forbes was being taken to I lie Auckland gaol after his remand, he became violent in the train, and smashed a window. Forbes pleaded guilty and asked His Worship for another chance. He added that he had a boy to keep. His Worship: Getting helplessly drunk four times within a few days will not keep your boy.
