Mr J. R. Fow returned to Hamilton yesterday from a visit to Canterbury.

Mr A. L. Malcolm, of Hawke’s Bay, is on a visit to the Waikato district.

Tho King lias approved the reappointment for another year of Sir Malcolm Hailey as Governor of Hie United Provinces of India. lie lias held the post for tho past five years.

Mr W. 11. Scott, of Dunedin, ofilcial fester of Hie Dominion Bowling Association, left Palmerston North on Tuesday afternoon for Wanganui. He next proceeds to Hamilton.

Visitors at Hie Hamilton Hotel include Messrs W. E. Fullerton. G. W. L.’ Spencer, W. Sul,on (Auckland), H. Wilhington, J. D. Brosnon, N. Clarke (Wellington) and A. Wileock (Stratford ).

Mr A. R. Crce, formerly secretary and chief accountant in New Zealand for Thomas liortliwiek and Sons (Australasia), Limited, has been appointed accountant to the Wheat Purchase Board.

Mr Thomas Graham, who some years ago was missionary in charge of First Church, Franklon, is visiting Hamilton. Since leaving Franklon Mr Graham has been engaged in missionary work in India, Burma and China.

Leave of absence for Hie remainder of the session, on account of ill-hoallh, was granted to Mr W. ,1. .lordan (Lnliour—Manukau) by Hie House of Hcprosontativos yesterday. Mr .lordan lei! on brief visit to Britain earlier in the month. The question of arranging a pair for him was left in tho hands of Mr M. .1. Savage (Labour —Auckland West).
