Approximately 7640 bales were sold. Strong general competition was met with. Fine merinos and crossbreds are now 5 per cent, above ppening rates. New Zealand clips: Scoured merinos “H.M. At the wool sales the current prices ior this week’s market were; Superior merino fleece, best to 21|d; greasy merino fleece, best 15d to 17d; good 13d to lid, average lid to 12d; di.-to light seed or burry skirts, good ilod to 12*d, average lOd to lid; 6*d to 9Ad; lambs, best to 15d; flue comebacks to 133Sydney brokers report that the average for the week’s sales was £ll 14s 5d per bale, or 9d lb. The Stock Exchange is closed for Ithe holiday.

STORE SHEEP SALE. ' Messrs Dalgety and Company, Ltd., report having held their weekly sale of store sheep at Frankton saleyards on Wednesday, as under — There was a smaller yarding than last week and consisted chiefly of store lambs. For all lambs there was very keen competition and prices were a shade higher than the previous week. We sold as under: 65 South-down-cross iambs in forward condition 10s, 57 shorn wether lambs 9s 6d, 118 shorn wether lambs 7s lid, 107 shorn ew r e lambs Bs, 80 shorn wether lambs 7s 2d, 60 shorn lambs Bs, 43 woolly lambs 7s Bd, small cull lambs 5s 4d to 6s, small two-tooth ewes 40s lOd, small two-tooth wethers 10s. cull ewes 3s 2d. ADDINGTON MARKET. Values at the Addington stock market were considerably affected by the new export schedule, and influenced by tho higher exchange, there being a general advance in all sections. For fat lambs there was a rise ol' 2s 6d a head for a fairly large entry of good Quality. Store lambs advanced Is Od to 2s, fat ewes 2s, and wethers 3s Od. Butchers and exporters competed keenly. Fat cattle advanced 10s to 15s a head. Store Sheep—This section included a fine selection of lambs. Forward lambs made 11s 3d to 12s 6d, medium 10s to 11s, average 8s to 9s Cd, culls to 7s 6d, Con-iedalc wether lambs to Ss Id, halfbred to 8s lid, threequarterbred ewe lambs to 9s 3d. Fat Lambs.—The yarding of 4700 was one of the best quality entries for some time. Extra prime realised up to 20s lOd, prime heavy 16s 6d to 18s 6d, medium 13s 6d to 16s, right ils to 13s. Fat Sheep.—The small entry was of good quality and values for all classes rose substantially at the outset. Extra prime wethers brought up to 20s, prime 16s Od to 18s, medium 14s Od to 16s, ordinary 13s to 14s 3d, light 10s 6d to 12s Od, extra prime ewes to 14s lOd, prime 12s to 13s Gd, medium 10s to 11s Id, ordinary 8s to 9s Gd, light to 7s Gd. Fat Cattle.—flic entry was of mixed quality and sold irregularly. The average advance was good. Best beef made 18s Gd to 21s per 1001 b, good steer beef 17s to 19s, medium 16s to 17s, heavy 15s Gd to 17s Od, medium cow 11s to 13s Gd, rough down to 9s; extra prime steers sold to £lO 2s Gd, prime heavy £7 to £8 15s, medium £5 5s to £7, ordinary £3 15s to £5, light to £3 10s, extra prime heifers to £8 12s Gd, prime £4 10s to £0 10s, medium £3 to £4 ss, light lo £3, extra prime cows to £7 7s Gd,prime £4 to £5 10s, medium £2 15s to £3 15s, light to £2 10s. Fat Pigs.—There was a medium entry, with slightly better demand. Choppers made 33s Gd to 58s Gd, porkers 18s to 23s Gd, heavy porkers 25s Gd to 28s Gd, extra heavy porkers to 30s (average price per lb 3Jd to 4-ld); baconers 31s Gd to 38s Gd, heavy baconers 40s to 4Gs Gd, extra heavy baconers lo 30s (average price per lb 31d to 3§d).
