MATANGI NEWS.

DANCE AND CARD EVENING. A very successful dance and card evening was organised by the Anglican young people in aid of church funds. Mrs C. Dunford and Mrs L. Judd acted as hostesses. The hall was beautifully decorated. Dancing to excellent music supplied by Clayton's orchestra was kept up until the early hours of the morning. Extras were played by Miss E. Nielsen, Miss M. Pretty and Mrs Nielsen. Mr R. Richardson acted as M.C. Monte Carlos were won by Miss Moody and Mr R. Ellis and Miss R. Shaw and Mr J. Young. A balloon dance was won by Miss Tomlinson and Mr D. Taylor.

A progressive euchre tournament was held in the supper room, Mesdames Dunford and Cummins tying for first prize. Mr H. Taylor won the men’s prize. Among those present were: Mesdames C.
