ELECTION CAMPAIGN. TERRORISM ALLEGED. A CANDIDATE’S PROTEST. United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright. LONDON, Jan. 19. The Dublin correspondent of the Daily Telegraph states that Mr. J. J. Hassett, formerly member of the Dali for Tipperary, belonging to the Cosgrave Party has written to the President, Mr. Do Valera, demanding an inquiry into acts of intimidation which, he says, amount to a reign of terror in Tipperary. Mr. Hassett asserts that these acts are making a free election impossible. People are afraid to let rooms to Mr. Cosgrave’s supporters under threat of a boycott.

Also, he declares, it is impossible to hire motor-cars. Cattle belonging to all who arc known to be supporters of Mr. Cosgrave are driven off ■their owners' lands and their fences are torn down. Mr. Hassett says he is constantly shadowed by two youths who he believes are in the pay of a secret body. Even old people are threatened with the loss of their pensions if they do not vote for Mr. De Valera’s candidates at ihe general election next Tuesday,
