WASH-HOUSE ABLAZE.

FIRE IN HAMILTON EAST. MINOR DAMAGE CAUSED. Minor damage was caused by a firs whleTi broke out in a wooden cottage, Cook Street, Hamilton East, owned and occupied by Mr W. C. D. Horsnell, shortly after 10 o’clock last night. The blaze originated in a heap of packing cases, and the flames secured a hold on the wash-house, which is situated in the rear portion of the house. Neighbours kept the flames in check with buckets until the arrival of the Hamilton Brigade, which extinguished the fire with Its first aid apparatus. The building was Insured for £350, and the contents for £l5O.
