NEW ZEALAND COUNCIL. THREE OPEN CHAMPIONSHIPS. (By Telegraph.—press Association.) WELLINGTON, Thursday. At the annual meeting of the New Zealand Croquet Council it was decided to appeal to tho associations to hold their annual meetings earlier, in order Unit reports may lie incorporated in the council's annual returns. H was resolved that llii'co open championships—Dominion, North, and South—be decided under tho same euttdil ions. 'l’lio proposal to appoint an organising secretary on a levy of half-a-erown a year per member was strongly opposed, on the gound that the time is not opportune. in view of this no further action was taken, but it was decided to appeal to all members for a voluntary contribution of sixpence or one shilling per week.

HINUERA v. MATAMATA. An interesting match was played on the Matamala lawns between Hinuera and the Matamala B team. The visitors ran oul winners by seven games to one.
