FIRES IN HAMILTON.
ROUSE DESTROYED. UNOCCUPIED COTTAGE ABLAZE. A four-roomed unoccupied cottage in Claudclnnds was destroyed by lire in Hie early hours of this morning. The house, which was in Claude Street, on the outskirts of the borough, was well alight when the Hamilton Fire Brigade was called at 2 a.m. Neighbours were awakened by the crackling of the (lames, and there was little tlie brigade could do when it arrived. Outbreak In Ward Street. The, Fire Brigade received a call at, 5.15 p.m. yesterday to Mr R. A. Pilkington’s premises. Ward Street. A small tire, apparently caused by a spark, was extinguished with the first aid fire-fighting outfit.
