Since woman was first created from tlic rib of man sbe bas bad ber cross to bear. Prevented by force of circumstance from participating in man’s pursuits, sbe became an onlooker in tbc game of life, t Hers was tbe unspectacular path wbicb led to neither ricbes nor reward, to neither glory nor adulation. Hers was tbe task of making a home, of caring for her children, of keeping hpr man contented. Hers was a life of drudgery, of long days spent in prosaic pursuits and tbe performance of innumerable exacting duties, f With ber irksome indoor life, taking toll of youth and vitality, little wonder that ber health was frail, f But woman is now entering a wider sphere.
