History was made in the 259-years-old archery contest for the ancient Scorton Arrow, at Ripon, recently, by T. It. Satterthwaite, a member of the John o’ Gaunt’s Archery Club, Lancaster. The prize was won witli tiie archer’s flrst arrow, less than half-an-hour . after the contest started. Wellknown archers said such a performance had never been accomplished before. The range was 100 yards.
